Brrrr....I don't know about you all, but I couldn't feel my toes this morning after standing at the bus stop with my kiddos. It is COLD!
Believe it or not, we aren't the only ones who don't like the cold. Your mobile devices (laptops, phones, chromebooks, tablets, etc.) don't like being cold either. As you bring your devices back and forth from work, please remember to always bring them inside with you, instead of leaving them in your vehicle.
If you do accidentally leave them in the cold, DO NOT PLUG THEM IN RIGHT AWAY! Bring them inside, and let them warm up for several hours. The cold will cause condensation to build up inside the machines and the instant heat from powering them up will cause damage to the battery and the electronics of the device. Water and electricity don't mix.
If something does happen to your device, please let the help desk (x5102 or help@portageps.org) know right away, along with what happened so we can best assess how to fix the device.
Stay warm!
